Ok so Falcon And The Winter Soldier Episode 5 is probably the best entry in the series so far and throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down the story, easter eggs, things you missed and giving our theories on where things could be going for the finale next week.
We're also gonna be discussing whether we think the big super duper hyped up cameo worked or not, our review of the show so far and behind the scenes stuff over where things could be going in the future.
Now Episode 4 was called The Whole World Is Watching and huge shoutouts to Emma Louise on twitter for pointing out that this is something that was chanted during the trial of the Chicago seven. We followed Sam, Bucky and Zemo as they tried to track down the Flagsmashers and along the way they met up with America's ass...hole and his best buddy Battlestar.
Bucky was given a deadline to HAND Zemo over to the Dora Milaje so they could nail him but after he palmed the deal off they DISARMED him...ey.
Zemo was able to escape and the episode culminated with someone who'd looked up to Captain America his entire life, looking up to him in his death.
Now this moment was very much a parallel to the ending of Civil War. In that Cap smashed the shield down on Tony as an act of mercy and rather than killing him he decided to walk away. Juxtaposing this John let his anger get the best of him and this led to the shield getting blood on in it.
The legacy of Captain America was now tarnished and episode 5 heavily tackles the fallout and aftermath of this action.

    • Walker : " We need to stop this girl before more people get hurt" Sam: " woah! This is a woke show, we need to talk to her" * girl kills walkers best friend , USA veteran * * Walker snaps and kills one of the terrorists * Fans: " How dare he!" Like what? This show made me care about Walker

    • @SIGN MAN 😂😂👍👍

    • @Bob Syme lol I was VERY impressed with his performance! And I wasn't intoxicated either 😂😂

    • @SIGN MANaye bro hopefully he ends up in the thunderbolts(if they are setting that up)lol.were you impressed by his performance?

    • @Bob Syme yes GSP is still Batroc! Great choice for an MCU bad guy! Let's see a GSP super soldier already!

  • That James Charles joke 😂

  • Correction: Val LaFontaine was Nick Fury’s lover in the Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD comics. Madame Masque was originally Whitney Frost and later Guiletta Nefaria. You’re conflating two characters.

  • Woahhhh!!

  • The episode was absolutely amazing best yet

  • AND VEEP!! OMG how did you forget VEEP?!?

  • One thing that I saw about Bucky that none of the reactioners that I follow have mentioned. When Bucky did some light flirting with Sarah it showed that the man he was before becoming the Super Soldiers was resurfacing. Remember, Bucky went out on a date with two women in the Cap Movie when they were introduced. He was a major ladies' man. I can't believe how many have overlooked those moments.

  • I like to believe that Steve peacefully passed away a little after the events of Endgame, rather than still being alive and having to sit and watch all of this go down.

  • Love the attention to detail you have!

  • I dont get it. Walker ND the Flag Smashers took only a small vial of the serum. When Rogers was injected with the serum, they used at least 5 large vials. Same was used on Bucky and the test subject by the Soviet Hydra. And yet they're match on strength. Walker is even stronger than Bucky (presumably because he's already a pretty strong human to begin with). Like how?

  • I get that you folks need to make money from adds and sponsorship, but I do love the way you dont interrupt the middle of your videos to tells us about ball shavers waterproof shoes or mattresses unlike some....😅 keep up the good work

  • I can’t help but think of Wyatt Russell’s character in 22 Jumpstreet every time I see him

  • I don't understand why Karli all of a sudden wants to kill Sam. Why is she not going after Walker?

  • You're a real one. You're not afraid or hold back on talking about the controversial topics.

  • 4K? SnyderCut? Pick me! Hahahah

  • The picture that was shown of Madame Hydra is Viper, the character who is more widely known as Madame Hydra, not Valentina. Valentina was Madame Hydra briefly yet everyone has been calling her that since her appearance on the show. Kinda weird.

  • Your spoiler points are point👌 on. I enjoy watching your comentaries. Keep them coming.👍

  • The most memorable part of this series will be zemo lol but yes wyatts acting and portrayal of John is really well done

  • In episode 5 when Val told John that "dirty state secret" about the shield not really belonging to the government (being a grey area), was she reffering to the fact that the current Captain America shield is from an alternate timeline? It would be very interesring if she knew this detail about the shield, considering she knew John took the super soldier serum.

  • How come all your metaphors reference non-entity nobody UZfirers?

  • The SJW Falcon and the never ending race baiting show (is a better name)

  • I don't understand why Karli all of a sudden wants to kill Sam. Why is she not going after Walker?

  • Im rooting for John Walker. He’s the only realist.

  • Mr. steal your sister 🤣🤣🤣

  • was not expecting the james charles joke 💀

  • Breakdown: SJW garbage.

  • Personally I don’t think “wokeness” and tackling politics in film are exactly the same thing. Also, Wyatt is stealing this show imo. his acting ability along with the depth of character he’s developed with us agent is amazing. I really just want to see more of him in different storylines. But production overall has exceeded expectations. Pumped for marvel moving forward.

  • A blink of Mephisto ! Anyways amazing acting by Cap/John , and Bucky's normal side not using his arm , were my favorite things .

  • I have like her, kind of a generic character but i still like her. She mirrors Sam to me. Her size matches to Sams wavering on picking up the mantel, her shyness comes off more as a humbleness to me, which matches his inability to see that he himself is worthy of the mantel just like she is gaining the confidence to lead the group.

  • I like how it’s all “woe is me” for Isiah Bradley because he was experimented on for 30 years. Didn’t they experiment of Bucky for 90??? Guess all lives don’t matter to Disney.

  • I did like the calls to"uncle Sam" by his sister's children.

  • Totally with you Paul not impressed with the Carly character, It may just be the actress lacks something I can't put my finger on...

  • Great hand puns at the beginning

  • Thanks so much for the breakdown!

  • What a Awesome episode!

  • I don’t think they are going to give John Walker a redemption, and I hate that.

  • Okay, I meant to ask this on Friday, but just remembered now, you know in Agents of Shield, in season 7, the agents created a different timeline, how does that tie in with the rest of the MCU. Like I remember them saying that Shield was no longer a thing, so I was wondering how AoS ties in with all of this. Also remember in season 4, in the framework AIDA was Madame Hydra. Marvel is being so clever with all the Easter eggs and key elements, it’s blowing my mind. Can’t wait to see the finale!

  • This is an excellent review and analysis. You put in the work!

  • Pretty decent episode.

  • 3:21 Now that would have been a surprising cameo. 16:20 I honestly thought you were about to do a VPN sponsorship ad.

  • This episode was great! Love the action and the also the more down to earth scenes.

  • 16:30 this man needs sponsorship from VPN companies.. you really are talented in many ways.

  • I don't get the super solder serum makes good great and bad worse saying. I know that's how it worked in Steve's time but it's been refined. Out of all the new super solders, why is Walker the only one coming unhinged, I thinke are just seeing someone come unglued, and would have, serum or not.

  • The shot of Walker kneeling with the shield looks straight out of a comic book panel.

  • I'm fine with an elaborate setup for the Thunderbolts, unknowingly sponsored by HYDRA

  • Mr. Steal Yo Sista

  • love the VPN AD dig on YOUR ARCHNEMESIS... Ryan Arey aka The Screen Crusher.

  • you used the image of a wrong madame hydra, thats not her

  • Hands down best episode so far!

  • No one gonna mention how perfect that VPN sponsor joke was?

  • US agent gonna bit like some antihero, borderline, he make mission but don't trust him kind of caracter.

  • love the content, love the channel, but there is no r in the name Isaiah

  • This episode was awesome, Wyatt is killing it as John!

  • i honestly wish they included the virus plot. it would've hit a lot harder and made karli way more sympathetic

  • unpopular opinion but i think falcon and winter soldier is better than or at the very least as god as wandavision. i really liked it and the only thorn in its side was lack of charecter development for Karli and the Flag Smashers group

  • "Any man must say "I am [Captain America] is no true [Captain America]." - Tywin Lannister

  • *Scotish accent “She was raised by BEARS!” Would have made for a better back story and introduced ‘Disney Princesses’ into the MCU. By extension, roping in new crowned Disney Princess Leia, and bringing the Star Wars universe too! It’s already happened, and we never saw it coming!! 😳🙄🤣

  • Definitely the best episode. Hopefully we get to see Sam help John. Obviously like everyone else I didn’t like John at first but his story has been really good, so I’m excited to see what happens in the finale.

  • It is most unfortunate when people state facts about black true history i’ll Black people in this country. And the abuse that they still experience today,, by their long time oppressors. Then those people That point out these historical facts of abuse,, are considered what has now been deemed ‘woke’. Which is now considered a negative term towards someone that ate conscious and aware. And choose to speak out against historical injustices towards people of color in this country.

  • It’s not ‘woke’ to be ant racist. It should be the default.

  • for those of us avoiding spoilers, the "we know [X] will be involved next week" came as a bit of a shock. Maybe spoiler tag those kind of drops next time?

  • 3:50 anyone ever notice that the shield doesn't really hit John... I've replayed and paused this more than a dozen times and Sam actually hits John with his feet or even his knees... But just see for yourself...

  • Walker *is* a good person though. He's not evil as you make him out to be. He's a broken man who has committed atrocities for his country, atrocities that eared him *fucking medals* when it isn't televised! Now he basically does the same but now they beat him into the floor like he's a criminal, after losing his best friend and ally none the less. Walker is a good man who got abused by the gouvernment, who got thrown out when he "made them look bad" even when he did what they told him to.

  • James Charles shade😂😂😂😂

  • Lmao @ the vpn sponsorship pumpfake

  • Smashing that like Smashing that like 👍🏽 don't hurt us Paul lol 😆

  • I just noticed there was a clip where the shield really got stuck and half-cut the tree. I never saw that scene in EP 5. Where when sam throws it tho wobbling only penetrates in the crust of it. I've got a feeling that maybe Sam might win the battle in ep 6 and barely even survive then lost a lot of blood. And a mysterious Blood Type O donor will give him blood and we know that Steve is Type O. Just my hypothesis, I may be wrong. HAHAHA

  • I don't think walker and falcon alll work together in the finale

  • They're doing a great job of making you feel for Walker while hating him at the same time. He is a great metaphor for America

  • Skrull evans

  • Hey, White is the color for peace not innocence You said it wrong, I love your videos 😍😍😍😍

  • Loved this episode Paul can’t wait for the finale 🔥🔥

  • This last episode is gonna be great!

  • She was Madame Hydra for like a second.... so much more to the character than that.

  • For a recipient of 3 Medal of Honors to behave in such a manner is just unacceptable. This award is about extreme SELFLESS SACRIFICE so others may live... & to be awarded 3??? And yet end up being the "bad guy"??? It diminishes the value of the medal... it doesn't make sense!

  • When Steve Rodgers first throws the shield at Winter Soldier in the movie he catches it with his super arm without moving. Here, when John walker throws it at Bucky he catches it with two hands and flies back a few feet. Does that mean John walker is that much stronger than Steve Rodgers?

  • When Bucky empty the bullets out of his hand instead of shooting Zemo, he was still metaphorically ending Zemo’s life by handing him over to the Dora milaje

  • I've been lukewarm on this series but, despite this being one of the least action-packed episodes, this episode has finally got me intrigued. I'm legitimately excited for the last episode now.

  • I think the case has a set of Beads. And that is a suit for Sam. Like a Black Panther suit but a Captain America design. That would be awesome

  • Honestly I see claims of Karli not being an interesting character to be founded in misogyny

  • One thing I've not heard anyone else mention, though I could have just missed it, is that Walker keeps saying, "I am Captain America" but Steve never calls himself that. Not once in the entire MCU. It's something that's exclusively used by other people. He always introduces himself as "Steve Rogers". I think *maybe* he calls himself "Captain Steve Rogers" but only when it would be appropriate to do so and not to be a dickhead. I take it as similar to being called a "hero". It's just not something you call yourself. It's something other people call you. If you start claiming the title, even if you've earned it, you've totally missed the point or are a completely arrogant dingus. (Though I have to say there are people who could call themselves a hero and I would nod and say, "Don't sell yourself short." but that is probably 3 people total. However, none of the people I'm thinking of would ever do that. Which is the point.) It feels like the people who say, "I'm a hero..." are the ones, most often, who are absolutely *not* one. They're the ones that think that since they have one similarity to someone who is a hero, that they've earned the same right. "This actual hero was in the Army, I'm in the Army so that makes me a hero too!" No, Jason, you don't get to say you're a hero before you've left Bootcamp. I'll give you marks for being brave enough to join but let's not go beyond that yet.

  • anyone with half a brain knows why Carly was "cast"

  • Talking about exactly what they're thinking and feeling is not great. I think they could have kept it more unspoken. Isaiah's part was great. But Sam's conversations were a bit much.

  • I think you're expecting too much complexity from Walker's story. I'm sure he'll just be straight up antagonist now.

  • I think that Sharon hired Batroc to infiltrate and kill Karli. That would be a win win for her. Please the Power Broker AND the CIA.

  • If Sam gets full armor, if I were Steve Rogers, I'd be like wtf?

  • Another great video. All though this series I flash back Dr. Erskine on the ground dying from the gun shot and pointing to Cap as if to say “Good Man” like he did the night before. Walker is a patriot and a hero soldier but not a “good man” Keep up the good work mate...

  • John Walker is the hero. The terrorists have to be stopped. Why is Falcon even talking to Karli. She needs to be brought in an charged.

  • They dont over look that it happens in the comics, they dont read em hahaha

  • no mention of the new Wakanda suit for Sam or what it might mean overall? :)

  • Why is no one talking about Torres? He is gonna be the new Falcon when Sam becomes Cap(because sam gave him the wings)

  • Being a Black Man who’s Grandfather was in the Air Force in ‘42 and couldn’t even take the test to be a pilot it felt like the entire episode was a reflection of the internal conflict I, and many other Black Men who come from military families, face constantly. I love my country, no question, but it’s hard to know if my country loves me. There’s so much that we’ve sacrificed to build this country, and many of us who paid the ultimate sacrifice, but our day to day lives don’t reflect that. It’s painful and complicated, and it’s hard to talk about but I felt how Sam deeply the whole time. I cried a couple times for sure. Idk where to go with this cause honestly I haven’t, nor has anyone in my family, found a simple answer.

    • Great comment and thanks for sharing your experience

  • It doesn't make Wyatt Russell a good actor, just because he is so convincingly unlikeable. He's just unlikeable, watch him in anything else.

  • The bland trying to bastardize the term, "Woke", cracks me up. Shout to Marvel for keeping it 100. Cause, I'd rather be woke than sleep. And, great job on the video, Paul!

  • Lemar: power just makes a person more of themselves, right? Me: No, power leads to Sith or Jedi, y'all. And John's looking like Anikan to me..

  • Who do you hate more, Joffrey Baratheon or John Walker?

  • The Sam and Bucky talk while throwing the shield was something I thought I’d never see in the MCU. Kudos to all involved!

  • a little detail i noticed is how walker clearly held the shield with blood almost as a token, and the moment sam had the shield in his hands he wiped the blood away.

  • I’m waiting for the cheese ball line from Walker “I was a patriot, now I’m a ‘super’ patriot.”

  • Steve Rogers originally gave up the Shield to become The Nomad partly because of Watergate - He has always been political.
