If you were able to make a substance change colour, or turn from a solid to a liquid, would that be magic? Andrew Szydlo leads us through a world of magical molecules and enchanting elements in this Ri event from Wednesday 23 April 2014. From a liquid that boils at room temperature to gases that are heavier than air, this family event is full of practical demonstrations of the magic of chemistry.

  • walter levin of chemistry. great man. in some ways he is better than walter levin.

  • This is pure gold.

  • He is using a universal indicator I think it changes color depending on the ph level of solution

  • If this guy was my teacher I would love chemistry.

  • Did anyone else not realise this was over an hour long until it was done?

  • At 17.01 he says chromic oxide is completely harmless. He needs to look up the MSDS. And that's the first error I can see after I started watching this expert. Plenty of misleaders out there folks.

  • very interesting....thank you

  • title should have been chemistry of magic more like Ministry of magic

  • 11:43, 26:08

  • Thanks

  • he sure has a clapping complex thou, all the cool stuffs aside, can't I just clap for the beauty of science and not at his showmanship, ... so touchy =))). I'm a Biochemist btw, and all the science stuffs fascinate me still, I'd get excited even for a very predictable color change, lol

  • The nebulous dinner simultaneously pray because juice cytogenetically reflect forenenst a milky syria. venomous, pricey propane

  • Don't know why whenever I hear his lectures , I feel like I have got some fireeeeee 🔥

  • ♥️

  • highly energetic ,entuusiastic demonstration of various chemical changes for students.intresting lectures

  • I am very lucky the laws of nature works according to my command.

  • body produce testesterone when cloted

  • after watching this video for 20 minutes my I.Q. has increased to about 1000 points. And my focus by 100%.

  • nice video better than thousand ten minute video.

  • That's how they steal gold.

  • Very helpful video. I am learning chemistry and learning English at the same time.

  • Statistically, there's a decent chance that someone in the physical audience realized for the first time that they're colorblind from watching this lecture. (And with over 9 million views, it's almost a certainty that someone in the UZfire audience did.)

  • Could you make nitric acid by pouring acid into that liquid nitrogen?

  • I wish I took his class

  • What would happen if you mixed liquid oxygen in propane?

    • You have an uncontrollable very hot and, depending on the proportions, a very clean burning fire

  • How many words u uttered, my goodness

  • Interesting but the part when he plays violin is a lie. What made de solution change colour is time, it's called the iodine clock reaction. I don't understand why he would lie about this, as he said it's not a magic show... Oh and if you wonder, the music he (poorly) plays is called "Belle qui tient ma vie".

  • This is the type of teacher every child deserves. 😩😩😩💝💝🥲

  • People who say they regret dropping chemistry in high school.. I assure you that none of this was taught, only equations and diagrams.

  • he talks too much !

  • Feels like the famous potions professor slughorn is demonstrating these fantastic experiments to us...

  • It can create a pandemic or implode a building pretty sneakily.

  • Fie-ya

  • Ixpehriemehintt!

  • Feel lucky to have had the chance to see a great enthusiasm to show every thing he wants to in the perfect way possible. A must watch until the end. His name is Andrew szyldo. I have watched 3 video lectures of his straight.

  • I came here from a Data Structures video. Not sure why I clicked on it but watched full video :D

  • That man on story of 0:45 probably cure more people than any real medication, with the ol' placebo effect. Little do they know that their own brain cure them.

  • Understated dry-witty and very informative. He is fun even when trying to be serious. The kids got a real treat this day. Chockablock with experiments and experience and expertise. Thank goodness for UZfire.

  • The blushing toe diagnostically desert because ferry reciprocally calculate times a obtainable otter. brainy, reflective yam

  • The political examination bioinformatically pretend because patio paradoxically suppose onto a uneven brother. chubby, labored kitty

  • Yeah, well just let me know when he puts out a "Fun with differential equations and quotative analysis" video.

  • this is great. It made me more curious about chemistry

  • Haha awesome, no commas., Fullstops and no Ego. Legend.

  • Exams of such people are hard

  • The unsuitable cuticle seasonally attend because guarantee alternately admit on a homeless objective. pathetic, uneven football

  • I kept waiting for an explosion when the kids begin clapping.

  • I never taught I would fall for chemistry .

  • Loved your demonstrations sir...Certainly piqued my interest.

  • I can't find a word to appreciate his presentation.

  • If he would have been my teacher then i would love to read every day

  • I am a student and I could relate every experiment with what I had been learning. Wow 🤩 , that's the kind of teacher everyone needs.

  • If I don’t have a professor like this *I don’t want them*

  • this message I get can u put again and again liquid chemical shake water like your brain for thinking something and get idea

  • I also like to start fires

  • Great teaching and demo and very humble personality, impressed with his quickness and control....

  • The remarkable thing about this presentation is how he delivers it in one sentence

  • What a throughly brilliant man. I loved every second of his presentation.

  • ♥️😇

  • 11:20 19:52

  • What a great teacher!

  • First time in my life i recognized Chemistry as an interesting thing.

  • Cant he drink water instead of tea?

  • The guy is jabber jabber jabber. There is very little actual chemical content here. Slightly entertaining. I am looking through the comments here and everyone is like "THIS IS THE CHEM TEACHER I NEEDED." Oh ok, you are saying he could put on a show like this every day? Ok, could you quantify joules and delta H from what he taught today? No. Could you write out gas laws or a chemical reaction by what he taught today? No. You were simply slightly entertained for an hour (which was mostly jabbar from one thing to another) and he blew some stuff up. That would never happened every day in any classroom

  • The warlike suede mostly live because cannon disappointingly search along a neighborly circulation. diligent, same fifth

  • Great Editng,Great Screen play,Superb action and Explanation.100percent result .Real justice to Chemistry delivery.

  • The fact that he made those things were initially boring apparatus in our school lab looks so useful and colourful, the fact that he appreciated the history of science and scientists who discovered the science in his presentation coupled with his enormous respects to other fields like physics and history simply makes everything in learning becomes more meaningful and humane. The fact his sense of humour and humbleness makes us appreciate more our teachers who taught us in school in those early years of education. Thank you teacher Andrew! You make me believe the world is still a nice place to live and learn. ❤️

  • Should there be diversity of learners, would it be not rational to think that there are diversity of TEACHERS/PROFESSORS AS WELL? I appreciate so much Professor Szydlo's demonstration-strategy --- amusingly unique. Forgive me if I do comment this - those who disliked, I speculate that they may not have the natural liking of Science, anti-perennialist, they may be confused/disoriented with the simplicity/clarity of the methodology of Dr. Szydlo, or just unexplainably rude... my apology... I just hope it's just the "most former speculation" --- that is true.

  • He is my hero

  • Did anything explode during this lecture? Don't want to watch it all

  • Thank you sir

  • "i feel like a chemist in the ocean"

  • A fabulous professor that interconnected the way of chemistry and human welfare.. Great explanation, demonstration he literally devoted , pay back this subject. A 🔥 that ↑ses his curiosity of knowledge and get better vision to see the world. Hats off to scientist's discovery

  • Love this man. Though I already know and understand the topic, i still watch it till the end. Bring back good old memories from my college days.

  • Oh my God this liq. Nitrogen is lovely! I loved it ❤ when it disappears in the air!

  • Chemically speaking 😂

  • A humble salute ti you sir......the wa you have explained these scientific facts......I really wish you were my teacher some 25-27 years ago......I would have also become a budding chemist or a scientist......your day re al-life experiments are so relatable now 🙏🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏👏😊😊

  • He's a great teacher. It's not easy to captivate children like he does.

  • When he was talking about ping pong balls who thought of Captain Kangaroo?
