Lets say Saitama vs polnareff and silver chariot, if there is 1 CHANCE that saitama can punch silver chariot only ONCE than polnareff is defeated. But stands can also phase through objects as you see star platinum stopping jotaro’s and Joseph’s heart. Stands can touch physical objects when they want to. We have seen them go through walls and stuff. Laos you could take out your stand, but not all the way so the stand is just around your body like a shield, which in technicality, you could sorta punch a stand. But like whats the point unless you are in danger and need that shield.

bruh I is clearly shown that stand user can touch stands. However like u said it's not impossible to defeat them using bigger stats such as strength or speed as long as u hurt the stand user. Also stands can faze through different object at their will. Clearly shown when for an example Jotaro takes out star platinum. I highly doubt that it pops out from no were like a smoke bomb
